Central Assembly of God Church Sierra Leone
An Assemblies of God church in the central part of Freetown, Sierra Leone, founded in March 1984, following a Mission Sierra Leone Crusade. The church met regularly at Regent Square Municipal School/Nursing School, Lightfoot Boston Street Freetown, and at the home of the Buckles at 15 Liverpool Street, for many years.
The Church was pioneered by Rev. Dr. Richard M. Shiaka through Mission Sierra Leone Crusades, then under the leadership of Rev. Charles Augustus Brown-Mark, Rev. Dudley Juxon-Smith, Rev. Raymond England, and Rev. Albert Metzger (Assistant Pastor).
It then secured a property at Oneil Street off Circular Road until national developments (construction of a Hillside Road) moved it out of that property. Scripture Union, Sierra Leone came to its aid and allowed it to use their hall at 77 Pademba Road, Freetown, in 2010, until such a time when the church would be able to secure another property.
God in His faithfulness provided a land at 12 Berry Street, Freetown, in 2019, as a testament to His promise that the church should serve mainly the central part of Freetown, Sierra Leone.
The church has impacted so many lives at home and in the diaspora. It is home to so many people. It has a vibrant youth and young adult ministry giving hope to the continuity of God’s plans. May His name be praised forever.
